The College of Staten Island has put Day Two of  the three-day ECAC Open in the books, as they participated in four more events today as part of preliminary play and then carried over two in the evening session.  Below is a breakdown of what took place today:

- Things started with the 200-yard Freestyle event on the women's side where Ewa Wojciechowska was participating.  In the prelims, Wojciechowska posted a time of 2:01.58, good for the 39th in the vast field.

- In the Men's installment of the 200-yard Freestyle, Derek Villa participated.  In the morning heats, Villa posted a time of 1:46.96, a good two seconds faster than his seed time, to land in 45th overall.  

- Next up was the Men's 100-yard Backstroke.  Tim Sweeney kept up his incredible run, coming in at 50.39, a little less than a full second past his seed time to earn 6th overall.  That merited him a spot in the evening's final heats and there Sweeney stayed put for a 6th place finish, but set his own personal best time with a mark of 49.84.  Nick Defonte also participated in prelims, posting a time of 55.38, good for 30th place.

- Finally, CSI participated in the 800-yard Freestyle Relay, reserved for the evening session only.  There, the team of Defonte, Jonathan Gorinshteyn, Sweeney and Villa posted a time of 7:07.43 good for 12th overall in the field.  Each of the four swimmers swam their personal bests, with Sweeney's opening leg of 1:41.47 setting a new school record, and the overall time broke the school record as well, a mark set back in 2012.

The ECAC Open will conclude tomorrow with CSI scheduled to compete in a total of five events.
