STRONG OUTING PROPELS MONTCLAIR STATE OVER CSI IN THE POOL

The College of Staten Island men's and women's swimming and diving programs both suffered a setback on Saturday, falling to Montclair State University in Upper Montclair, NJ.  Scores were 156-122 on the men's side and 141-95 on the women's side.  The CSI men fell to 2-1 on the young season, while the women fell to 2-2.

It wasn't until event no. 12 that the Dolphins were able to reel in a first place performance, and Tim Sweeney did the honors in the 200-yard Butterrfly, winning the event by over five seconds with a time of 1:55.51.  In the very next event, the 50-yard Freestyle, the women scored their first win as Ewa Wojciechowska raced in at 26.36 defeating MSU's Allison Barth by less than a second.

That then set up a string of wins, as CSI swept diving with Jessica Shaw and Ayman El Haddad topping out on the one-meter boards and Wojciechowka scored another win in the 100-yard Freestyle turn.  Later in the meet, Adil El Haddad would add a win on the three-meter boards.

The Dolphins will pick up action next Friday, when they travel to take on Baruch College at 6pm.
