Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

WYSOKOWSKI'S HAT TRICK LEADS DOLPHINS PASSED BEARS, 10-0

The College of Staten Island women's soccer team won for the third straight time, coasting to a 10-0 final over St. Joseph's College of Brooklyn as part of non-conference play at the CSI Soccer Complex.  CSI led 7-0 at the half and outshot the Bears 37-0 in the first stanza before adding three more goals on four shots in the second half for a final of 10-0 played on a beautiful day for soccer.  The win improved the Dolphins to 8-2 overall, while the Bears fell to 1-7.

Kristy Colangelo posted her sixth shutout of the season, third in a row, and was not called upon to make a save in this afternoon's game.  She will tie the all-time record with a shutout this weekend against CCNY for consecutive shutouts and she'll need three more shutouts on the season to break Victoria Donegan's record set in 2013 where she tallied eight shutouts.

The Dolphins improved to 8-2 on the year while the Bears dropped to 1-7.  This is the third time this season Staten Island has scored 10+ goals in a game two of which were played at the CSI Soccer Complex helping the Dolphins stay perfect at home with a 5-0 record.

CSI outshot SJC-BK 41-0 and held a 13-0 margin on corner kicks which forced Izabella Armstrong to make 17 saves in the contest.

Samantha Wysokowski tied Hall of Famer Fiosa Begai with her 13th career game-winning goal when she opened up scoring this afternoon just eight minutes into the contest when Lauren Smith crossed the ball into the box which found a wide open Wysokowski for an easy header into the goal.  Wysokowski, being the goal poacher she is, found herself one-on-one with the keeper two minutes later which she tucked away under the keepers arm for the games second, and her second, goal of the game.

After a 17 minute stretch of no goals from the Dolphins Danielle Smith found herself 25 yards out wide open which enabled her to cannon off a beautiful strike into the upper right corner of the goal.

Colangelo scored her first goal of the season today when the Dolphins were awarded a penalty kick for a handball inside the box.  Colangelo would confidently strike the ball into the side netting out of the reach of the outstretched Armstrong to give the Dolphins a 7-0 lead right before half.

The Dolphins started to possess the ball more in the second half which broke down the Bears' defense and allowed Senda Karagozler to send in an absolute stunner of a ball to Concetta Perito.  Perito struck the ball off the far left post which bounced in the goal for her first ever career goal.

The Dolphins will return to action Saturday when they travel to Randall's Island to take on City College of New York at 9:30 am.
