DOLPHINS FALL TO WILLIAM PATERSON, 6-3

CSI's Madiha Mulla earned a win in doubles
The College of Staten Island women's tennis team was on the losing side of the ledger for the first time this season, falling to visiting William Paterson University by a 6-3 count this afternoon as part of non-conference play at the CSI Tennis Center.  The Dolphins fell to 2-1 overall, while WPU evened to 2-2.

The Dolphins opened with a win at No. 2 Doubles, as the team of Sabrina Bragerton-Nasert and Madiha Mulla were victorious over the Pioneers' Caitlin Pariso and Ashley Vidal by an 8-1 count.  Moments later though, WPU got even with an 8-3 win in the No. 3 position for Jessica Daniels and Summer Bernales.  In a crucial match at No. 1 Doubles, CSI's team of Nozima Toshpulatova and Michelle Kushnir got themselves a 4-1 lead over WPU's Brittany LaBruna and Kristy Daubert, but the Pioneers rallied back to score seven straight points and took an 8-4 win to give the visitors a 2-1 lead after doubles play.

CSI was able to come away with a pair of victories in singles.  In the second spot, Bragerton-Nasert powered to a win over Daniels, 6-0, 6-1, while down at No. 5, Kushnir soundly defeated Ashley Vidal by a 6-0, 6-2, count.  Freshman Sandra Samuel made her collegiate debut at No. 4 Singles for the Dolphins, falling to Caitlin Pariso, 6-2, 6-1.

The Dolphins will be right back in action tomorrow, when they travel to face Lehman College in the Bronx for a CUNYAC matchup at 3:30pm.  The game was originally scheduled for Tuesday but was rained out.
