Box Score The College of Staten Island took on the Bloodhounds of John Jay College in the CUNYAC Quarterfinals at the Tomas D. Morales Field on the campus of Staten Island. 
Chris Falcone started on the mound for the Dolphins and had 13 strikeouts, allowed zero hits, and allowed nobody to get on base through six innings.  John Pignatelli then came in for Falcone to save Falcone for later in the playoffs.

The Dolphins started it off early with a Nick Delprete double down the left field line to drive in Greg Manassa.  Frank Sconzo would immediately drive home Delprete with a single to right field which allowed him to reach second on the throw home in an attempt to throw out Delprete. 

CSI would go on to score three more runs in the very next inning.  Joseph Palmeri would reach second base on an error by the third baseman putting him in scoring position.  John Baggs would step up to the plate and bring in Palmeri with a triple to deep right field. 

The Dolphins scored their final two outs of the game in the fifth inning off of a costly error by the second baseman which score both of the final runs for CSI. 
John Jay would not give up so easily.  They entered the scoreboard for the first time in the seventh inning making the score 8-1 in favor of the Dolphins.  However with two outs in the ninth inning John Jay brought out their big bats after remaining silent for a majority of the game.  They stole several bases putting themselves in scoring position and the Bloodhounds started to hit.  They were able to put a scare into the Dolphins when they scored four runs, however CSI was able to keep their composure and get the final out to end the game.
