POSTGAME INTERVIEWS - The College of Staten Island women's swimming and diving unit had a tough go of it in their 2014-15 debut, falling hard to visiting Pace University as part of non-conference play, 130-67.  The women fell to 0-1 to start the season, while the Setters lifted to a season-opening 1-0.

The Dolphins only scored a pair of first-place finish tonight against the tough Pace NCAA Division II lineup.  Their first was a victory in the opening 400-yard Medley Relay, as the foursome of Ewa Wojciechowska, Dakota Dawkins, Tina Chen, and Victoria Crea, turned in a time of 4:48.59 in the event.  CSI held the lead after the second event with a third place finish by Hunter Dawkins in the 1650-yard Freestyle, but after that the Setters took the lead for good on a Kaitlyn Fitzgerald first place finish in the 200-yard Freestyle.

In a very tight 50-yard Freestyle race where the first three swimmers were within one second of one another, Wojciechowska came in second place with a time of 27.00.  Dakota Dawkins followed up with a third-place faring in the 200-yard Individual Medley and then CSI swept one-meter Diving with Stephanie Collyer, Victoria Crea, and Tina Chen coming in one-two-three.

Pace swept the gold medal finishes from there.  CSI freshman Veronica Eskaros impressed, scoring third place in the 100-yard Butterfly with a time of 1:16.65 and the 100-yard Backstroke with a time of 1:25.34.

CSI will next face off against Ramapo College at 2pm on November 1, in Mahwah, NJ, for another non-conference meet.
