POSTGAME INTERVIEWS - The College of Staten Island men's swimming squad scored a nice entry into their 2014-15 campaign, posting a 132-75 win over NCAA Division II Pace University.  The Dolphins moved to 1-0 on the season, while the Setters fell to a season-opening 0-1.

The Dolphins scored seven first-place finishes in the meet, but Pace got off to an early lead via the 400-yard Medley Relay event.  After that the duo of Tim Sweeney and Stephen O'Driscoll swept first and second place in the 1650-yard Freestyle, and after Derek Villa and newcomer Christopher Sorenson took second and third place in the 200-yard Freestyle, senior Andrey Tarasov posted a time of 22.93 in the 50-yard Freestyle to give CSI a more sizable lead.

Tarasov was right back in action and took second place in the 200 IM with a time of 2:13.33, and then CSI swept away the diving points as John Pignatelli (199.05), Nolan Reese (144.23) and rookie Ayman El-Haddad (142.80) scored valuable points.

CSI took gold via Sweeney's 100-yard Butterfly outstanding time of 53.33, and then Pace made things interesting with three-straight first place finishes, including a solid 5:15.47 run by Jakub Lewandowski in the 500-yard Freestyle.

The Dolphins finished things up by taking the 400-yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:55.20 for Chris Pinto, Chris Barros, O'Driscoll, and Sweeney.

CSI will next be in action for another non-conference meet, when they travel to take on Ramapo College on November 1, in a 2pm meet.
