Women's tennis may have fallen just short of conference supremacy; however, the Dolphins are well represented in the CUNY Conference honors for the 2012 Tennis season.
A trio of Dolphins, freshman
Sabrina Bragerton-Nasert, junior Illona Stoyko and sophomore
Jean Baak were all named CUNYAC First Team All Stars. While another freshman,
Madiha Mulla was named CUNYAC Rookie of the Year.
Bragerton-Nasert played in fourteen singles matches amassing a record of 8-6 (5-2 CUNY) and was also 10-4 (6-1 CUNY) in doubles contests. Stoyko was 8-4 (6-1 CUNY) in her singles matches and 9-6 (5-2 CUNY). Baak was dominant in singles matches going 11-1 (6-0 CUNY) and 8-5 (4-1 CUNY) in doubles action.
Mulla was one of the Dolphins most consistent and versatile players this season going 12-3 (6-1 CUNY) in singles. She especially starred in doubles, primarily playing with Bragerton-Nasert, Mulla amassed an overall 11-3 (6-1 CUNY) doubles record.
Brooklyn College's Yuliya Orkis was named CUNYAC Player of the Year, while Anna Ko of York College was named the Sportsmanship winner. Ahmad Odetella of Brooklyn College was named Coach of the Year.
