Kenneth Zaw
Kenneth Zaw scored CSI's lone goal via a Penalty Shot.
Keystone College scored a pair of goals in the opening 25 minutes of play and then held on, defeating the College of Staten Island men's soccer side by a 2-1 final as part of the Drew University Fall Festival played at Drew University in Madison, New Jersey, earlier this afternoon.  The Dolphins dipped to 0-2 on the season, while the Giants of Keystone start the season 1-0.

With the game a draw in just about every statistical category, it was going to take a good effort by either team to tally a goal and that's exactly what the Giants got a pair of times early in the first half.  At 13:51, Scott Bensinger punched in the game's first goal, bouncing in a James Turano pass over the outstretched Ahmed El-Ghareib to give Keytone a 1-0 lead.

Exactly 10 minutes later, Bensinger tallied again, this time striking in a goal off of a Dyer Moore cross to give Keystone the 2-0 lead.  From there, the chances were few and far between for both teams.  Keystone finished with just three shots on goal in the first half, whiel CSI placed only two.  At 31:53, almost eight minutes after KC's second goal, a tackle inside the penalty box led to a CSI penalty shot, their first since the 2008 season, and CSI junior Kenneth Zaw did the honors, placing it home against KC keeper Daniel O'Rourke to make it a 2-1 game.

The Dolphins, however, would come no closer.  Playing only 14 players, the team got off only four shots in the second stanza but not a single one on goal as KC was able to hold on and O'Rourke earning a one-save victory.  Keystone only registered one harmless shot on goal themselves in the second half on six total.

Keystone owned the advantage in the game's total shots, 12-11 (4-2 on goal), while CSI committed just one lone foul in the match to Keystone's five.  Both sides where whistled for offsides three times during the game.

CSI will try to bounce back tomorrow afternoon in the second leg of the Drew University Fall Festival.  They will play SUNY-Old Westbury at 2pm.
